EDUCATION
It is the process of teaching young people and children in school and at home to get new knowledge and skills

TYPES OF EDUCATION
i. Formal Education (Teachers’ Education)
ii. Informal Education (Parents’ Education)

WORK
It is the job that a person does in order to earn an income. Whatever we do to get an income or get paid is also called Occupation

IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION IN OUR LIVES
I. Education helps one to earn money and fulfil the basic needs of his or her life
II. It is one of the ways to gain respect from the society
III. Education helps to bring equality among us despite our gender, tribe and profession
IV. Education allows us to set standards in life

IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION IN THE SOCIETY
I. People become better citizens when educated
II. It will help you to get a job
III. Education helps to close the poverty gap in the society

THE VALUE OF EDUCATION
I. Education helps us to acquire knowledge and skills. Knowledge means the state of knowing or having information about something. Skill is our ability to do something well.
Therefore knowledge and skills help us to perform our activities very well in the society

II. Education prepares the individual for future work. This means that the education we receive in school today as young people will help us to work very well because of the skills obtained.
III. Education helps us to identify and develop our potentials. This means that it is possible for individuals (that is pupils) to identify their talents and develop them.

IV. It helps us to be literate. This means that education gives us the ability to read and write so that we can speak to others both orally and in written form

V. It helps us to know our rights and privileges. When we know our rights and privileges in school, we can easily demand for them so that no body cheats us unlike if we are not educated

IMPORTANCE OF WORK
I. Self-dependence. This means that as you work, you will start earning an income to help you meet your needs and you will not beg anyone for needs like food and clothing.

II. Work makes us disciplined. This means that work makes us become disciplined as we have to follow a routine or work within a specific period of time before we receive our pay or salary

III. I gives us self-respect. This means that you as an individual gets this amazing feeling that whatever you do you have a place in the society and you pay tax from your salary as a way of contributing to the development of your nation.

IV. Work helps us develop a sense of responsibility. This means that you as a person develop a sense of responsibility towards the firm, office or equipment you work with and everything that matters in life. 

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EDUCATION AND WORK
I. Education helps us to choose different types of work. This means that education makes us well informed, so we have the ability to choose from any of the jobs we can properly do to be happy in life.

II. Education helps us to develop positive attitudes towards work. This means the positive attitudes like discipline and hard work among others that we learnt through education will help us to work more and increase our output (amount of work) at the workplace.


III. Education gives us the ability to perform new jobs. This means that once educated, people can read and write to understand and act accordingly. We are able therefore to do the new things that come into our work and perform new jobs like teachers, teaching creative arts even though they did not study it at school as a subject.

IV. Education increases our ability to be creative and innovative in our work. This means that educated people are able to research into their work (job) and come out with new products or services to satisfy human needs.
