When we say culture or way of life of people we mean:
1. The food they eat : mashed yam with eggs(Otor),  kpokpoi etc

2. The clothes they wear : kente, smock etc

3. The type of building they live in: mud house or huts, wooden structures etc

4. The game they play : ampe, oware, ludu etc

5. Their music, dance and drama

6. Their religion : Some of them are traditionalists others are christians and muslims respectively

They came to spread the Christian faith. The Portuguese were the first European nation to come to Gold Coast in the year 1471.
